UK new accounts team’s objective is to define and develop credit risk strategies to drive profitable growth at acquisition. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting detailed analysis and driving new accounts credit risk strategy for UK consumer and small business card portfolio. This person will also focus on tracking and explaining New Accounts and limit assignment metrics, developing & evaluating new data sources, and working on projects together with our business partners. How will you make an impact in this role? • Drive profitable strategies at acquisition driven by economics of lifetime value • Monitor Key New Accounts metrics and provide analytical insights to explain trends in collaboration with Marketing and Sales teams and react quickly to potential/emerging issues • Very close monitoring of high-risk portfolio segments eg. Marginal approvals, low income, Low revenue, payment holidays etc. • Partner closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Decision science, Operations, Compliance, Legal and third party vendors) to implement risk strategies and develop new capabilities to provide best in class customer experience • Build and improve existing MIS and analytical reporting tools to improve our understanding of current trends • Strengthen credit risk capabilities by incorporating new data sources in credit risk decision • Perform ad hoc analysis to identify new risk opportunities among early payment defaulters • Ensure adherence to compliance and participation in audits as required Minimum Qualifications • At least 1 year experience in risk management or data analytical roles • Knowledge of underwriting and consumer/commercial bureau data is a must • Bachelor’s / Masters Degree or Phd in quantitative field (e.g. Finance, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Economics) • Coding skills in SQL and in one of R/Python is required. Hands-on exposure is a must. • Strong technical and analytical acumen with the ability to apply both quantitative methods and business knowledge to create insights and drive results • Good communication and persuasion skills with an ability to translate technical analysis into business strategy recommendations; conceptualize and sell ideas to internal and external partners • Ability to build strong relationships with partners across business units • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a matrix organization; partnering with capabilities, decision sciences, technology teams and external vendors to deliver solutions quickly and effectively • Results driven with strong project management skills and ability to work on multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications • Understanding of statistical concepts • Knowledge of UK regulatory landscape for consumer lending • Past experience working on affordability for consumer lending is a plus We back our colleagues and their loved ones with benefits and programs that support their holistic well-being.
