About this Opportunity
The Construction and Standards team are responsible for the design and construction of Group Property’s estate, ensuring the delivery of a safe, resilient, and sustainable data centre infrastructure.
The candidate will retain and build relationships with colleagues and collaborators and work with the line manager on findings and remedial plans required.
The candidate needs to be based within commuting distance from the principal data centre locations in the East Midlands.
What you'll be doing
* Attend internal pre-construction investment steering groups and working group meetings to assist internal collaborators with all MEP matters.
* Lead all construction technical matters and queries, acting as a junction between MEP consultant engineers, framework contractors, and construction oversight partners.
* Ensure compliance with MEP & construction standards, monitor evolving trends and regulations, and submit changes to the lead engineer.
* Manage incidents within key data centres and critical buildings, leading escalation processes and contributing towards resolutions.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement with the Group’s suppliers.
* Chair meetings and liaise with stakeholders and key suppliers.
* Support framework contractors and MEP consultants during project construction meetings.
* Lead construction aspects to ensure site environment, health & safety, wellbeing, quality, and commissioning are reported in a timely manner.
* Identify and mitigate embedded MEP services that impose a risk to project timeline and quality.
* Track progress and report to line manager/lead engineer.
What you'll need
* Significant Industry Experience (required).
* Ideally located in the East Midlands area.
* Relevant bachelor’s degree in a property, engineering, or construction-related field (required).
* MEP related construction experience essential with a focus on project management.
* Knowledge of building safety legislation, building standards, construction contracts, and health and safety requirements essential.
* Experience of working in diverse teams with multiple collaborators.
* Experience with common construction software preferred (e.g., AutoCAD, BIM, Document Management Portals).
* Experience and knowledge of sustainability pledges and their impact on M&E systems.
* Experience of working with critical infrastructure to meet required resiliency.
