New Formation Education is excited to be partnering with an outstanding primary school in the borough of Kingston Upon Thames to recruit a passionate and dedicated Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistant for a January or February 2025 start.
This role is perfect for someone with a keen interest in education and a desire to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). While formal qualifications are not required, we are looking for someone who is eager to develop their skills, build experience in a school setting, and grow within the education sector. The school values enthusiasm, dedication, and a genuine desire to help children with various needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and other learning or behavioural challenges.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with SEN, helping them engage with the curriculum
- Assist the classroom teacher in delivering an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment
- Support the implementation of individual learning and behaviour plans tailored to students' specific needs
- Encourage the development of students' social, emotional, and communication skills
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students to support their confidence and well-being
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure a coordinated approach to support
Requirements
- A strong desire to work with children and help them achieve their potential
- A passion for education and supporting students with a variety of needs
- A positive, adaptable, and proactive attitude
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience working with children, whether in a school, childcare, or voluntary setting, is a plus but not essential
- A willingness to learn, take on new challenges, and engage in professional development
- Qualifications are not essential, but a desire to progress and develop in the education sector is highly valued
- Availability for full-time work from January/ February during term-time
