The successful post-holder will be expected to provide comprehensive healthcare to patients with Hematologic conditions, both malignant and non-malignant in various states of health or illness within the Haematology Department. This will involve assistance with all aspects of patient care in collaboration with a Consultant Haematologist, including the following: Taking medical histories and performing physical examinations, Formulation of a differential diagnosis and implementation of evidence-based plan of care including diagnostic, therapeutic and follow-up care in addition to initiation of emergency treatment where appropriate, Performing specialist diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the scope of practice and following appropriate training (see below), Teaching and coaching, Requesting and interpreting diagnostic studies within the scope of practice, It is anticipated that the post-holder would develop and maintain strong provider-patient relationships and strong collaborative relationships within the healthcare team. Key areas involve work where patients are managed on clinical pathways including diagnostic and therapeutic protocols and will be in the following sectors: Outpatient Services: This includes the Haematology Day Care and Chemotherapy Units and Outpatient Clinics Inpatient Services: This includes the dedicated Haematology ward and Specialty Outlier wards
