R&D Engineer in Newcastle: A High-Tech Opportunity
KO2's client, a renowned leader in robotics and automation, seeks an innovative R&D Engineer to join their team in the vibrant city of Newcastle. This exciting role offers the chance to work on pioneering designs that enhance vehicle performance and protection in challenging environments.
As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you'll drive projects from concept through to development, creating functional and structural solutions for armoured vehicles. Your expertise will be crucial in conceptualizing designs from scratch with minimal specifications, while delivering innovative solutions. Proficiency in using Inventor, SolidWorks, or Creo is essential (any one of these packages), and any hydraulic experience is highly valued. Your responsibilities will also include conducting thorough structural integrity analysis, FMEA, FEA, and load case testing.
This role is perfect for an R&D Engineer with experience in conceptual design who can seamlessly integrate mechanical systems with electronics technology. Candidates with backgrounds in defence, mining, or oil and gas are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead mechanical design from the conceptual stage with minimal specifications.
* Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines, including electronics and embedded systems.
* Create detailed CAD designs using Inventor and perform comprehensive structural integrity analysis.
* Conduct load case analysis, FMEA, FEA, and external testing.
