PTSG are excited to announce a new position available within the Lightning Protection Installation division. The Quantity Surveyor will have responsibility for all aspects of quantity surveying for Lightning Protection Installation projects, providing support to the regional Estimators, Project Managers, central Billing Team and Senior Commercial Manager on all commercial aspects of the projects, using JCT/NEC/bespoke contracts. Key Accountabilities Provide commercial support to Estimators in the agreement of contract terms in line with the PTSG Legal Policy where different from the PTSG Standard Terms which are the preferred basis for all tenders/quotation submissions Provide commercial support to Project Managers when the projects are live in risk management for schedule and cost Provide commercial support to the central Billing Team with the formulation of Applications for Payment for timely submission Provide commercial support regarding the submission of project variations Assessing, reviewing and mitigating contractual risks with the Project Managers Prepare/Review all contract communications, notifications and replies in line with contract timescales Provide commercial support to the Senior Commercial Manager in: - Budget monitoring and producing contract/workstream performance data Produce weekly & monthly reports (CVR, EVA & other internal reporting) Providing procurement support where necessary Person Specification Minimum 4 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor HND/BSc Quantity Surveying (preferred not essential) CSCS card for site visits when necessary Possess understanding or experience with business systems, spreadsheet development, cost analysis, program evaluation and development, and assessment and evaluation of compensation events and/or variations. Understanding of commercial, contractual, and financial project drivers Practical measurement experience using an industry recognised methods of measurement (NRM2, SMM7, CESMM4, etc) The desire to continuously increase knowledge of various forms and options of contracts.
