The Integrated Care Board (ICB) is recruiting a Designated Nurse Children in Care and Care Leavers to support the delivery of the statutory ICB responsibilities. This role will be supported by the ICB Safeguarding Team, particularly a Designated Dr Children in Care and a Deputy Designated Nurse.
The postholder will advise on children in care and care leavers workstreams and their safeguarding arrangements in the Integrated Care System, working closely with other colleagues in the Integrated Care Board. This is to ensure that children and young people are considered in strategic planning, clinical leadership, innovation, development, and the delivery of services to improve health and wellbeing in BNSSG.
Main duties of the job
This role will work closely with the Children in Care health provider to ensure that health needs are assessed, reviewed, and met to prevent further harm. A collaborative approach with local authority system partners is essential to drive improvements and processes together.
Due to hybrid working, applicants are invited from all areas, with an understanding that the successful candidate will be required in the office at least once a week for team office days and to attend Corporate Parenting Boards in person. The contracted work base for this post is located at Temple Street, Bristol. The ICB supports hybrid working, however, flexibility and agility are required by the post holder to deliver all aspects of this role.

Knowledge, Training and Experience
* Educated to masters level or equivalent experience working at a senior level in a specialist area.
* RN/RHV/RMW/RSC N/Specialist Community Practitioner.
* Extensive knowledge of relevant national policies and implications for practice relating to CHILDREN IN CARE and Care Leavers.
* Experience of leading and managing change in service developments.
* Knowledge and application of legal frameworks including court attendance related to Adoptions, Placements, and care orders.
* Experience in undertaking health investigations for safeguarding inquiries.
* Experience in child reviews and associated investigations.
* Significant experience in a relevant health child safeguarding related post.

* Experience in building and maintaining working relationships at a senior level.
