Our Private Client team in Leeds are seeking an experienced paralegal to join their team and support them in delivering an exceptional service to their clients.
This is an important role within the team, supporting other fee earners to enable them to focus on advising our Private Clients. The successful candidate will be part of and be mentored by a strong team with a wealth of knowledge and experience, who have exceptional client relationships and are leaders in their field. The team is ranked in Legal 500 (Band 2) and Vivienne Wild (Partner) is ranked in Legal 500 as a Leading Partner.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
1. Managing, under supervision, straightforward probate matters
2. Submitting Trustee Act Notices
3. Undertaking bank reconciliations for Estate Accounts
4. Dealing with payment requests
5. Undertaking Land Registry searches
6. Preparing first draft straightforward Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and dealing with their registration
7. Preparing deeds and documents such as Deeds of Retirement, Trustees' Minutes and Resolutions
8. Dealing with initial inquiries from third parties
The successful candidate will have:
1. An understanding of Private Client law and knowledge of Private Client activities and practice
2. A strong attention to detail
3. An ability to work with a degree of independence
4. Strong drafting skills and legal search experience
5. A dedication to exceptional client service
6. Commitment to being a team player with a willingness to learn and contribute to the success of the team
7. Adeptness at balancing priorities
This role is suitable for hybrid working and you will be in the office for a minimum of three days per week.
