BIGKID Foundation is a dynamic and growing youth charity dedicated to ending youth violence by equipping young people with the tools and opportunities they need to take control of their futures and thrive. We run sports, leadership, and mentoring programs that empower young people to overcome the barriers in their lives. As we expand our impact, we are looking for a strategic and driven Senior Operations Manager to join our team.

About the role
The Senior Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the efficiency and effectiveness of BIGKID’s daily operations. This role is focused on ensuring the smooth delivery of our programs, developing internal processes, and supporting the team to maximize their impact. Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership, the successful candidate will be instrumental in strengthening the charity’s infrastructure, culture, and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Operations & Strategy
* Develop and implement operational strategies that align with BIGKID’s mission and growth objectives.
* Lead and refine internal processes to improve efficiency and ensure the smooth delivery of programs and services.
* Support the leadership team in developing and executing long-term operational goals.
* Identify and implement operational improvements to enhance the charity’s impact and sustainability.
* Oversee logistics, resource allocation, and day-to-day operational functions to ensure seamless program delivery.
Program Delivery & Impact
* Collaborate with the Programmes Team to ensure the effective planning, delivery, and evaluation of all BIGKID initiatives.
* Establish systems for tracking and measuring the impact of programs to ensure continuous improvement.
* Ensure that all activities are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard, aligning with BIGKID’s mission.
People & Culture
* Lead and develop the operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
* Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and performance management to ensure the right talent is in place.
* Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the organisation, ensuring all staff feel supported and empowered.
Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including partners and community organisations.
* Support the CEO and senior leadership in fundraising, partnership development, and donor engagement efforts.
* Represent BIGKID at relevant events and meetings, showcasing the foundation’s work and impact.
Note:
Although the core duties of the post are set out within the job description, a flexible approach to work is essential. The postholder may be required to adapt the above duties to take account of changes to working practices (e.g. the introduction of new technology).
* Proven experience in a senior operations or programme management role within a charity, social enterprise, or youth-focused organisation.
* Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive efficiency and impact.
* Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Demonstrated people management and leadership experience, with a focus on team development and motivation.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience in building partnerships across sectors.
* Knowledge of safeguarding laws and practice
* Experience of office administration
* Knowledge of youth work, community engagement, or social impact programs.
* Experience working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
* Familiarity with impact measurement frameworks and continuous improvement practices.
Salary and Benefits
* £40,000 per annum (based on experience)
* Travel/mileage within London
* 34 days holiday (Inclusive of bank holidays, BIGKID in-kind days).
