The company operates from its state-of-the-art factory and new product development center in Gateshead. Dalziel Ingredients is committed to supporting just-in-time deliveries and operates its fleet of over 120 vehicles with a network of regional distribution depots throughout the UK. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role as a New Product Development Technologist located in Gateshead. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to develop and bring new products to the market by managing projects from concept to launch and supporting the development of products according to customer specifications. The New Product Development Technologist will also conduct research and development on new technologies and ingredients to support the company's commitment to innovation. This is a customer facing role and requires excellent presentation skills. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree or higher in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field Experience in the food industry, preferably in new product development Familiarity with food safety and regulatory requirements and procedures Strong project management skills, including the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines Experience with Microsoft Office software Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment and communicating with cross-functional teams Excellent problem-solving skills to provide creative solutions in a dynamic work environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills This is a customer facing role and requires excellent presentation skills. Ability to take initiatives and work independently Duties include: Recipe development and reformulation to achieve an end product that meets customer expectations and that is financially and technically feasible. Following critical paths for product launches to include shelf-life trials, raw materials, labelling and specifications. Keep up to date with food safety legislation, food industry guidelines and retailer standards. Keeping up to date with relevant new product development and market launches. Attending team meetings to support continuous improvement within the team. Actively engage in product testing, benchmarking, and product reviews. Running and reporting sensory panels. Presenting ideas internally customers. Supporting a food safety excellence culture.
