Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer the opportunity to join our team within Emergency Medicine as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner.
We are looking for Advanced Clinical Practitioners, who are motivated, enthusiastic, compassionate individuals with experience in emergency medicine. Individuals who are credentialed ACP’s with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine curriculum or who have a comparable portfolio of evidence outlining your level of competence, equivalent to ST3 level practice in emergency medicine and who have completed an MSc advanced clinical practice or MSc ACP apprenticeship.
The post will be cross site at the John Radcliffe Emergency Department, which is a Major Trauma and tertiary referral centre seeing a wide variety of acute clinical presentations, and the Horton General Hospital Emergency Department. We are committed to growing and developing our team of ACPs, providing an opportunity for those who are experienced in emergency care to develop their clinical practice, knowledge and leadership skills while delivering a high standard of care to our patients and providing a positive contribution to a sustainable MDT workforce within our ED’s.
Main duties of the job
This is a full-time post; you will be working an 0.8 clinical practice / 0.2 non-clinical time working toward a 7/24 hour service. The ACP will be working alongside the EM clinician team and will continue to develop their advanced clinical assessment skills, be responsible for managing your own case load and assessing, treating, referring, or discharging patients in your care with the support from a senior clinician. The ACP will be expected to work as an autonomous practitioner in all areas of the Emergency Department, adult or paediatrics depending on portfolio evidence.
As an ACP in our Emergency Departments, you will be supported with regular clinical supervision, by our team of consultants, have access to multidisciplinary education and an individual learning plans as required. As an ACP, additional to your clinical role, there will be opportunities and expectation for you to take active roles in education, leadership and research projects within the Emergency Departments. The ACP is a senior member of the ED team, and is a role model, leader and expert in delivering emergency care to our patients.

Qualifications
* Registered Healthcare Professional (NMC, HCPC or GPhC)
* First level degree (HEI Level 5 or 6) or equivalent, in undergraduate base profession
* MSc L7 Advanced Practice or equivalent - in relevant Advanced Practice field Life Support Course – ALS/ ATLS or ETC
* Specialist post-graduate education / qualifications, or training relevant to Emergency Medicine
* Mentoring, Facilitating Workplace Learning or Clinical Supervision Qualification
* Leadership Course or Qualification
* Professional ACP Credential - RCEM
Knowledge and Experience
* Significant experience and expertise within Emergency Medicine
* Proven evidence of management ability and leadership skills
* Evidence of ongoing CPD, including multi-source feedback and workplace-based assessments evidence within own professional portfolio of evidence.
* Excellent clinical acumen and practical procedural skills (with evidence of competency and capability) as an independent practitioner, as per Job Description for role/ RCEM curriculum
* Knowledge of clinical governance issues and measures of quality
* Experience of clinical audit, service evaluation or improvements in practice
* Ability to appraise evidence, using analytical and problem-solving skills to inform decision-making, and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands
* Experience of change management
* Demonstrable evidence of research capability, or the application of research evidence to own clinical practice
* Existing technical clinical procedural skills relevant to clinical service
* Experience of writing for publication and/or conference presentations

* Commitment to CPD practices for own development, and the development and support of others
* Willingness to engage in clinical supervision to develop knowledge, skills and behaviours across the breadth of the four pillars of advanced practice

* Evidence of leadership skills in relation to delivering educational teaching or lecturers, with associated feedback and evaluations, internally and/or externally to the organisation (e.g. HEIs)
