We are seeking experienced CNC Machinists responsible for setting and operating Mazak 5-Axis CNC Machining Centres, including:
Mazak Integrex E-1600V/10
Mazak Integrex I-500 V/5You will be capable of tooling setup, minor program edits, and working independently to provided instructions while collaborating closely within a team to continuously improve processes and problem-solve.
Key Responsibilities:
Set and operate Mazak 5-axis mill/turn machines.
Perform program edits as needed (Mazatrol and ISO G-Code).
Set tooling efficiently and accurately.
Work independently to established processes and specifications.
Read and interpret engineering drawings confidently.
Use a range of measuring equipment to verify components.
Handle castings and various metals (Inconel, Aluminium Bronze, Cast Iron, Duplex, Stainless Steel).
Safely use hand and power tools, as well as overhead cranes, slinging, and lifting (training provided).
Drive process improvements as part of a continuous improvement (CI) culture.
Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S principles.
Ensure work meets quality standards and follow defined processes.
Meet production deadlines through efficient time management.
Support cross-training and assist in training others when necessary.
Follow all company Health & Safety procedures.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Essential:
Minimum 5 years' experience in an engineering manufacturing environment.
Minimum 5 years' CNC machining experience (milling and turning preferred).
Experience setting and operating Mazak CNC machines.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
Ability to read and edit CNC programs (G-Code and Mazatrol).
Strong understanding of turning and milling techniques.
Proven problem-solving abilities.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Flexible, hands-on approach with a strong work ethic.
Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
Advantageous:
Apprentice trained (Engineering discipline).
Offline programming experience (Edgecam, Mastercam, or Mazatrol).
Experience working within a Continuous Improvement/Lean environment (understanding of the 8 wastes).
Safety and 5S awareness and participation.Education:
GCSE/O-Level or equivalent qualifications required.
Completion of an engineering apprenticeship highly desirable.Contract information:
6 month contract
37 hour standard week with OT available
Possible requirement of split shift
Hourly rate dependant on experience
