St John and St Elizabeth Hospital is delighted to offer this exciting opportunity to an experienced strategic HR Professional to join the HR Team. You will support the Director of People Services in delivering the Hospitals strategic goals, values and overall aim of putting people first. With the support of the Director of People Services, you will deliver an excellent employee relations service, enabling and supporting other HR duties and functions including but not limited to reports for Hospital Management Board, employee relations, training, projects, recruitment and retention in line with the Hospitals strategic goals, values and our overall aim of Putting People First.
You will support the health and wellbeing of staff, to ensure that organizational change is dealt with in a timely and effective manner, provide support and advice to Heads of Department, line managers and members of the Hospital Management Board.

What would be my responsibilities as the Head of People Services?
1. Provide leadership for the HR function
2. Lead on the identification and implementation of workforce initiatives that support the Hospital’s strategic objectives
3. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the team and stakeholders throughout the Hospital
4. Ensure comprehensive and professional employment advice and support is provided throughout the organisation
5. Oversee the annual appraisal process liaising with the Director of People, Finance and other key stakeholders (clinical and non-clinical)
6. Lead on the delivery of action plans arising from the Hospital’s staff survey, equalities reports and other local or national requirements
7. Support the Hospital in developing projects, initiatives and interventions to grow and retain the workforce of the future
8. Contribute and where appropriate lead on the review and development of new and existing workforce related policies
Am I the right person for this Head of People Services?
9. First Degree or equivalent level of experience
10. Member of the CIPD
11. Experience of working in a health or related environment
12. Track record of building effective relationships with key stakeholders
13. Track record of delivering effective HR interventions at a senior level
14. Track record of delivery of high standards of quality against conflicting objectives and to agreed timescales
15. Experience of dealing with complex employee relations and overseeing case management
16. Understanding of People related policies and their development
