An opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced individual with a clinical background has arisen to lead and have overall responsibility for the Operational Management for Hospital Operation Services within Morriston Service Group.
You must be a person who is capable of leading, inspiring and developing the patient flow and complex discharge workforces to continuously drive standards of patient flow and discharge, ensuring there is a patient centred approach that is safe and effective.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and assurance of emergency preparedness, resilience and response, engaging with a range of key stakeholders to maintain and enhance the emergency preparedness, resilience and response capability of Morriston Service Group and ensure effective oversight of the work, this includes working with internal business continuity planning across the Service Group.
Main duties of the job
You will provide both day to day operational leadership and management for Hospital Operations, working collaboratively with the Divisional teams, you will provide assurance that robust systems for site and patient flow are in place and that quality patient led services are delivered consistently.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Divisional Manager, along with the Clinical team and Deputy Head of Nursing within the service group is a key member of the Service Group Management Team. The Divisional Manager is accountable for optimising the resources of the Division in order to deliver safe and effective patient care and for fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
Provide leadership to the staff; functions and services managed, and be accountable to the Service Group Director for all services in the Division, the Service Groups objectives and the development of the services.
Will have overall responsibility for the operational management of the services and be responsible for management of services within resources available and achieving targets.
Contribute to creating a strategic vision for the services managed and developing a plan for achieving that vision ensuring service change meets internal and external expectations.
Required to interpret and implement national guideline to ensure effective delivery of clinical services across the Division.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Masters degree or equivalent experience at senior management level within the NHS
2. Service Improvement qualification (Silver
3. Post Graduate qualification in a clinical speciality.
4. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how management decision making is impacted by clinical priorities, risks etc.
5. Demonstrate detailed knowledge and understanding of a wide range of national health policy issues and how they translate to NHS Services.
6. Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in relation to Information and Information management issues and how they support operational and strategic management of clinical services.
7. Previous experience of working within a clinical environment within a clinical post.
8. Ability to translate national policy across a range of service areas, into robust and measurable action plans to support delivery of challenging, service, financial and staff management targets.
9. Leading and delivery of highly complex service change.
10. Skills and experience in leading on significant service improvement
