We have an exciting opportunity to join Leonardo as a Supply Chain Sector Lead. Reporting into the VP Supply Chain for operational activity, with process and governance being managed by the Head of Supply Chain (Edinburgh). Main duties will be to ensure that any non-commercial issues relating to production part material supply are managed to ensure material is delivered in accordance with MRP need date, minimizing the impact to Sales output. To achieve this, you will coordinate and manage multi-function involvement best suited to solving the problem(s) at hand, ensuring responsibility and accountability is understood and ensuring all output related actions are clear in terms of action, ownership, and are time bound. Other key responsibilities will be attending key Project meetings relating to your designated Sector and ensuring the associated KPI metrics of the role are managed and reported effectively. Although Custom Working will relate to this role, it is envisaged the role will require a minimum of 3 days onsite attendance.
Material Supply Aspects
1. Develop appropriate relationships and act as the lead interface with SC Acquisition leads/managers, and LOB IPTs to understand material issues and ensure closure is in line with MRP requirements.
2. Manage Supplier/Project Joint Action Plans (JAPs) and ensure these are discussed at IPT Supply Reviews so actions are allocated, understood, and time bound. Produce appropriate reporting metrics and escalations.
3. Understand the SC reporting tools (i.e. 3SR, CSR, revenue forecasting, de-commit and DPP).
4. Attend 30-60-90 day reporting at LOB Supply Reviews for SC owned material. Escalate JAPs and all functional dependencies.
5. Be actively involved in any Procurement owned Supplier CSIPs that may impact material supply.
6. Promote a culture of Best Practice in Material Supply sharing knowledge within the function and within the wider business. Manage and mentor Material leads.
7. Support management of obsolete material and proposed LTBs & LLTs to ensure seamless material supply transition in line with MRP requirements.
8. Input & attend LOB Supplier RBRs where necessary.
9. Support the MRB/FRB process, ensuring all external material supply information is flowed and is a conduit into execution team and JAPs (where relevant).
10. Ensure that Procurement are made aware of any commercial/contracting implications associated with material supply issues.
11. Attend and manage the LOB SRBs, CARs, DCP processes within the sector ensuring SC visibility.
Acquisition Aspects
1. Understand the open order book management status of your designated Sector managed by the wider SC Acquisition Team.
2. Attend any regular meetings/calls with Suppliers to ensure complex/subcontract related POs are managed, especially at sub-tier material ordering phase.
3. Liaise with IPT to understand all Project milestones that need to be achieved that relate to material supply.
4. Liaise with MPMs on data integrity, ensuring Material Master accurately reflects SC ownership of production parts.
5. Support the SC Acquisition Team in the management of Site RTV & Repairs (excluding WSPs).
6. Actively seek to update and improve any reports or processes within the Material lead team and the wider SC function.
7. Sector wide JAP responsibility, educating senior managers where appropriate of key risks, escalations, and training opportunities.
8. Be fully aware of suppliers with constraints and their impact to the sector and recovery plans.
Key Performance Indicators:
1. Effective communication and execution of all Functional/Legislative governance and compliance.
2. Deliver Functional/Site demonstrated performance KPIs are managed and appropriate RCCA carried out when outwith target.
3. Alignment of supplier delivery with Internal MPS Plans and any associated Material Supply Risk Mitigation Plans.
4. Management of material reporting into local CSRs.
5. Collation, management and reporting of Joint Action Plans (JAPs).
6. Ensure system and master data accuracy is maintained at all times.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
1. Good written and verbal communication skills.
2. Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills across IPT/Sector/LOB.
3. Good organisational skills, demonstrated through ability to plan and prioritise.
4. Provide escalation path for team on all material issues.
5. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
6. Experience of material planning, supply and control.
7. Good understanding of fundamentals of MRP, push-pull scheduling, BOBJ reporting.
8. Relevant Process knowledge – for example SAP, Material, MRP, PDM, NPI, Inventory control, LCM.
9. Good solid knowledge of manufacturing processes.
10. Delegation skills.
11. Leadership and performance management including coaching & mentoring of team.
12. Understanding of company cost systems with support into revenue.
