Monday to Thursday 07:00 until 11:00 and 14:30 until 18:00

They are seeking a friendly a hardworking premises officer to be responsible for the maintenance, security and cleanliness of the school building and grounds.
Key Duties
The Premises Officer will supervise a team of cleaning staff, oversee maintenance and repairs, and ensure the school buildings and grounds are well-maintained and secure. Responsibilities include handling minor repairs, ordering materials, monitoring budgets, and maintaining records. The officer will open and close the premises, set and unset alarms, and respond to out-of-hours emergencies. Daily duties involve cleaning, overseeing contractors, and maintaining the grounds. Additionally, the officer will manage electrical installations and heating systems, ensuring routine maintenance and safety. In emergencies, such as leaks or fires, they will take appropriate action and liaise with contractors and emergency services. The role also includes handling the movement of furniture and deliveries, addressing spillages, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The officer will participate in training and development to support the school’s commitment to a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment.
The Candidate
The candidate will possess a strong level of literacy and numeracy and have prior experience in a caretaking role that includes repairs and maintenance. They should be capable of alerting senior staff to unsafe practices and conducting risk assessments related to the premises. An understanding of health and safety, as well as good security practices, is essential. The candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision, accurately maintain records, and demonstrate empathy toward children and young people. Additionally, they should be skilled in using a variety of tools and cleaning equipment and have the understanding and ability to carry out tasks such as decorating, plumbing, and minor electrical work.

Therefore, a DBS enhanced check is an essential requirement.
