Medical staff include a Medical Lead Consultant in Palliative Medicine, GP trainees, Specialist and Specialty Doctors, a Consultant Nurseand Advanced Clinical Practitioners. We have close links to the nearby Maidstone Oncology Centre and the Tunbridge Wells Hospital where our Specialistdoctors do two sessions per week. The post will be based at Hospice in the Weald, Tunbridge Wells, with sessions at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust working alongside the current Hospice team and the Consultant in Palliative Medicine at the Trust, supported by junior staff and the full multidisciplinary team. The overall clinical workload will be shared in a way that is flexible and best fits the skills and experience of the successful candidate as well as matching their working pattern. Active involvement with audit and research will also be encouraged, seeking opportunities to expand the Hospices research activity along with Kent and Medway Palliative Care Research Group and the University of Kent. About us Hospice in the Weald is purpose-built with 25 beds, in a glorious rural setting just 30 miles outside London. We have two in-patient wards, oneatour Pembury site for people with symptomatic needs and where we can provide day case procedures, and the Cottage Hospice which is Advanced Clinical Practitioner led, for people who have low symptomatic needs in Five Ashes, East Sussex. We also have a large Hospice Outreach team, Living Well Service andCounselling and Support services. To be the medical lead for research within the hospice, working to encourage, support and disseminate research projects throughout the hospice. To work in collaboration with the Kent and Medway Research Priority Group and the University of Kent helping to identify projects suitable for HitW involvement and actively recruiting patients for trials.
