About the Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting young people in their journey towards independence. You will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support, ensuring the safety and well-being of the young people in our service, and promoting their personal development.
The role involves working on a rotating shift pattern with sleep-ins, so flexibility is essential. You will be part of a dedicated team, and we will provide full training and opportunities for career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide practical and emotional support to young people in our care.
Support young people with daily living tasks, including personal care, budgeting, and cooking.
Help create and maintain a safe and supportive environment.
Promote independence and life skills development.
Build trusting relationships with young people, encouraging their engagement in education, work, and social activities.
Ensure young people are supported in meeting their individual care plans and achieving their goals.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to support young people's progress.
Essential Requirements:
A minimum of 12 months' experience in a children's residential care home or youth work. (Consideration will be given to experience working with adults in a similar setting.)
Level 2 NVQ or QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
A full UK driving licence.
Applicants must be aged 21 or over.
The right to work in the UK with no restrictions.
Desirable Requirements:
A good understanding of Ofsted's Supported Accommodation Regulations and Quality Standards.
A solid understanding of person-centred approaches.
Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
