Peterhouse is a non-maintained Specialist School for autistic pupils aged 5-19 in Southport.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring class teacher with a passion for SEN and a creative, inspirational approach to delivering the curriculum. The successful candidate will join our thriving school and make a real difference to the lives of our learners!
Peterhouse School offers a rich and ambitious curriculum for all our learners to best equip them for the future. We have high expectations for learners' progress in the core areas of interaction and communication, cognition, physical development, social, emotional, and mental health, as well as self-help and independence. Every pupil has a personalised curriculum that is closely aligned with their education, health, and care plan (EHCP). Our high-quality curriculum is led by our expert teaching staff but is created collaboratively with parents, carers, and other professionals and specialists as needed.

We want them to be motivated and challenged and watch as they thrive in a school that understands their individuality and celebrates their unique qualities and strengths. What is the role?
Peterhouse is seeking to appoint a talented and motivated Class Teacher to join our team in September or as soon as possible thereafter. Our successful candidate will offer our pupils the best teaching and learning experiences and opportunities, ensuring they achieve the excellent outcomes they deserve. Having experience working with learners with autism is essential, and our successful candidates will be selected based on their commitment and enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills to achieve the very best for our learners and their individual development. Due to the growth of the school, we are looking to appoint from a range of experience, which could include:
* Mainstream teachers who have knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum and SEN in mainstream
* Teachers with expertise in working with students with high needs ASC
* We are particularly interested in applicants with specialist subject knowledge in Maths but this is not essential
* ECTs are welcome to apply
