Our client is a leading Defence and Government Consultancy and they are looking for 2 Data Scientists to join their team to work across Government and Critical National Infrastructure (primarily Water) projects.
You will need to be experienced in programme languages and have an understanding of AI and/or Machine Learning.
They have excellent growth opportunities for someone willing to learn and can offer a variety of really exciting projects!
Working Patterns: 2-3 days per week on sites across the Northwest of England/Scotland.
The Key Responsibilities of a Data Scientist:
* Applying Data Science to problems within Defence, Government and Critical National Infrastructure.
* Solve important and impactful real-world problems within a growing team of data specialists.
* Utilise advanced technology stacks to analyse complex datasets to build and deliver solutions to diverse problems.
* Research and stay up to date with the latest technological advances to ensure the best technology usage for customers.
* At more senior levels, lead and manage technical teams.
* Work collaboratively with experts across industry to uncover hidden insights and build AI solutions that solve real-world problems.
* Build data products and services, including project/product management, prototyping, and deployment lifecycles.
* Analyse complex datasets and craft innovative solutions to a wide array of industry challenges.
* Work across projects which challenge you to stay up to date with the latest technological advances and help you to grow and develop as a Practitioner.
Below is a list of Key Skills required for the Data Scientist, however you will not be expected to have everything:
* Defence/Government or Water experience is essential.
* Strong experience of programming languages like Python, R, and SQL to ingest and analyse datasets.
* Knowledge and understanding of Machine Learning, and AI principles.
* A keen interest in continual learning and consulting across varying projects with our clients in the engineering domain.
* An ability to quickly absorb complex concepts, identify solutions and effectively communicate results to audiences of varying technical knowledge.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to liaise with and report to clients and partners.
* An interest in helping junior team members to successfully deliver their projects.
