Radar Engineer TPS-77 RadarShetland Isles, ZE2 9TJPermanent, Full time, 37 hours per week

Serco have an exciting opportunity for a Radar Engineer to join the team in Shetland to support the maintenance of the TPS-77 Radar at RRH Saxa Vord.
You will be responsible for ensuring KPI targets, quality compliance, safety, continuous improvement and other contractual obligations are met at site. You will report to and support the TPS-77 Site Technical Manager to provide excellent day to day operational delivery.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Deliver 1st/ 2nd line Preventative maintenance on the TPS-77 Radar Systems
- Deliver 1st/ 2nd / 3rd line Corrective maintenance on the TPS-77 Radar Systems
- Responsible for quality compliance, safety, continuous improvement and other contractual obligations are met with regards to the TPS-77 systems.
- Engaging with the relevant internal and external organisations and key stakeholders in order to build and maintain Serco’s reputation.
- Provide out of hours call out to support radar availability when required
- Maintain and review radar technical manuals
- Maintain and manage all tools and test equipment required to support TPS-77 system.
- Support the Site Technical Manger to maximise the overall system availability
- Spares management of the Saxa Vord inventory
- Provide a site support to Lockheed Martin when required
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Holds recognised Electronics and Electrical Qualification.
- At least 2 years TPS-77 radar experience
- Fully conversant with Serco governance policies and procedures.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with RAF personnel on the radar sites.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Proven track record in maintaining the Radar Systems.
- Proven track record in maintaining the TPS-77 radar.
- Understanding RAF processes
- Proven track record of successful maintaining radar systems.
- Proven practical and pragmatic understanding of service delivery.
- Working within a team, communicating within the team and with customers.
- Innovative thinker.
- Customer retention/satisfaction.
- Understanding of availability contracts
- Able to gain and maintain SC/DV Security clearance.
