Band 5 Rotational Occupational Therapist
Are you looking for an excellent start to your career as an Occupational Therapist?
We are seeking permanent, full-time Band 5 Occupational Therapists to join our rotation which delivers services from a variety of clinical settings and bases.
To participate in the Band 5 Occupational Therapy rotational scheme, you will work across Torbay and South Devon Healthcare Trust sites in a range of ward settings, out-patient departments, intermediate care facilities, patients' own homes, and community facilities.
Support and development includes a preceptorship scheme, clinical supervision, and wide access to a range of development opportunities. Working across 7 days will be required.
We welcome applications from newly qualified, more experienced Band 5s, or from those due to qualify in the near future.
Your role will involve providing high-quality, safe Occupational Therapy services in the right place, at the right time, to support the people of Torbay and South Devon to live their lives with meaningful occupation and purpose. This will involve working with individuals to assess their needs and develop plans to support them in achieving their aims, whilst working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
As a member of the rotation, you will change your work area every 6 months. Under the supervision of a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will provide specialist occupational therapy input aimed at achieving maximum independence for all patients, meeting their occupational needs in a meaningful and purposeful manner. You will work in accordance with the professional code of conduct and standards of practice and operational policy for this service.
We provide an excellent opportunity for you to develop your skills and gain the foundations for your future career. Our rotation of 15 different placements offers the opportunity to work in a variety of locations in the stunning South Devon area, covering coast, countryside, and urban settings in practice areas such as acute and community hospitals, social care, paediatrics, and intermediate care teams.
We also provide Preceptorship, a 12-month multi-disciplinary programme aimed at all newly qualified, newly appointed, and return-to-practice staff, to be completed within the first year of employment at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (TSDFT).
Our Occupational Therapists have the opportunity to attend and participate in a monthly Band 5 Occupational Therapy forum, offering peer support, updates, and in-house training.
Our staff workforce is caring, committed, inclusive, and focused on quality. We focus on solutions and people’s strengths, encourage outside-the-box thinking, and embrace innovation and change wherever it can drive improvement.
If you share our values and vision and are passionate about working with people on what matters to them, you could be a real asset to Team Torbay and South Devon.
