We are seeking a highly skilled Despatch Manager to oversee and coordinate the dispatch operations within our logistics and warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and a comprehensive understanding of materials handling, warehouse management systems, and logistics processes. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient dispatch operations, optimising workflow, and maintaining high standards of service delivery. Working from Monday to Friday (PM shift) Key Responsibilities Lead a team of warehouse operatives - acting as first point of contact for all training, performance and people related issues. Develop and establish best practice in warehouse management procedures, ensuring all team members receive a full induction and regular training and that procedures are clearly communicated and followed. Planning and monitoring workload into the warehouse and plan staff resource within budget. Responsible for timely dispatch of wholesale orders, to make sure these meet the scheduled Next Day Deliveries. Supervise and undertake quality inspections on pallet deliveries, to keep high delivery time accuracy. Supervise and undertake quality inspections to make sure customer specifications are met. Creating PODs for all pallet deliveries that leave the warehouse. Daily interaction with drivers collecting orders, also making sure these loads are loaded securely and in line with health and safety. Ability to communicate with customer services to ensure all delivery quires are dealt with in a timely fashion. Manage working within budgets. Work collaboratively with other warehouse mangers to ensure that the warehouse is operating efficiently and to help with any warehouse improvement projects. Liaising with customers, couriers, and haulage providers to answer any queries and handle any complaints. Maintaining a strong working relationship with all other Warehouse Operations teams, finance, stock accounting teams and the internal audits. Supervise and contribute towards general good housekeeping within the warehouse and vehicles, including reporting any damages to equipment. Champions excellent H&S and Warehouse standards and hygiene always, both personally and within the wider warehouse team, reporting any accidents or near misses. Key Skills Previous experience within a fast-paced warehouse environment and a good understanding of distribution and supply chain. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team to deliver excellent results. Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the business and with our customers and suppliers. Embraces change and holds a relentless desire for continuous improvement and delivery of operational effectiveness. High standard email ethic and responsiveness. Experienced in resource planning and able to work within agreed budgets Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail. Have the ability to work to tight deadlines and within a fast paced and high-pressure environment. Experience with a recognised WMS (Manhattan, Infor, SAP) would be desirable.
