Salary: Grade F £38,419 - £40,989 (Actual Salary - £32,898)

We're looking for a dedicated Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to oversee safeguarding at our Weston site while we're on a temporary location. When we move to our permanent home in September 2026, you'll become the DSL for the entire site. Join us and be part of a strong safeguarding culture, supporting a diverse group of 54 learners, which will grow to 65 in September 2026. All our students have an EHCP with a primary designation of SEMH, and your expertise will be crucial in ensuring their safety and well-being. Lime Hills Academy is a rapidly progressing and expanding special school for students with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties in years 5-11. The successful candidate will act as both pastoral and curriculum keyworker for a small group of young people delivering a range of subject content and skills. We are looking for candidates with a breadth of experience of working with young people, who are enthusiastic, resilient, highly motivated and are passionate about inclusive education.

What We Are Looking For:
To be successful in the post, we are looking for a Designated Safeguarding Lead who will act as the main point of contact, with lead responsibility within the Academy for safeguarding and child protection in line with statutory requirements. Lead in facilitating the development of safeguarding policies, guidance, training, and procedures for the Academy. Evaluate training provided, ensure compliance, and ensure that safeguarding is embedded in the culture of the Academy.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead should take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection within their Academy. They will be provided support to discharge their duties through their principal (their line manager) and the Designated Safeguarding Lead Officer for (for professional advice and guidance) the trust.
Duties will also include:
* Produce written reports and audits for internal or CLF analysis and review.
* Lead school based meetings and CPD sessions for safeguarding or wider staff members.
* Line manage members of the wider safeguarding team e.g. DDSL as directed.
About the Academy & Cabot Learning Federation
Lime Hills Academy is a state funded special school for young people in years 5 - 11 who have an EHCP to support their SEMH needs. We will be moving into our new build in Churchill in September 2025. As a temporary arrangement we have been supported by the DfE and CLF to deliver our provision across two sites: a secondary site in Weston and a primary site in Nailsea.
