Project Details
The primary focus of this Building Surveyor role will be on education estate projects. They will range between 50k to 2 million pounds. The employer specialises in education Funding, Strategic Estate Advice & Construction Delivery for Schools, Academies and Colleges.
You'll primarily work on projects across East Anglia, as well as Bedford and Hertfordshire.
This is a hybrid role, with an office in Bury St Edmunds.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Provide estate support to trusts and schools, ranging from estates strategy advice to project delivery services
* Prepare condition surveys and reports, detailing the current state of a building and recommending necessary remedial work.
* Ensure that projects comply with all relevant building codes, health and safety regulations, and educational facility guidelines.
* Conduct regular health and safety audits
* Advise on Refurbishment works to existing buildings I.e. Roofing replacement, fire alarm works, fire door replacement, safeguarding works etc.
Desired Skills and Experience
* 4-5 years of post-graduate experience as a Building Surveyor
* Previous experience in the education sector would be ideal
* Ability to work independently and in a team
* Keen eye for detail to identify potential issues and ensure work meets all required standards and specifications
* Ability to negotiate with contractors, suppliers, and other parties to achieve the best outcomes for projects.
* Proficiency in using industry-standard software and tools
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Driving license and access to a car.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
* A BSc degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline or equivalent qualification is preferred.
