You will like

The Senior Civil Engineer or Principal Civil Engineer job itself, which is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to further their career in the industry. This is a new office within a well-established consultancy that is looking to organically grow. You would be an integral number two to the Director, helping to facilitate that growth. More specifically:

* Manage clients, projects, and commercials.
* Liaising with Local Planning Authorities.
* Taking the reins on projects and progressing into leadership roles.
* Help guide and mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and experience.
* Oversee designs to ensure they meet standards, regulations, and client needs.
* Manage resources, schedules, and deliverables to keep projects running smoothly.
* Build strong relationships with clients and external contacts like contractors and councils.
* Ensure work complies with health, safety, and environmental standards
* Check and review project work to maintain high quality and resolve issues early.
* Support bids and tenders with technical input and cost estimates.
* Look for opportunities to grow the business through new projects or relationships.


You will be set on a great career trajectory, and you'll be number 2 to the Director in a new office, with fantastic exposure to further management positions. You will have

To be successful as a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer, you will have a healthy mix of the following:

* Ideally 5+ years UK experience, senior role.
* Ideally 6+ years UK experience with experience in principal position, principal role.
* Highway design experience, dealing with Section 278 / 38.
* Drainage design, dealing with Section 104.
* Previous experience managing clients and expectations.
* Experience dealing with local planning authorities.
* Good commercial acumen.
