Job Description:
A Quantum Senior Associate Director job is available in Birmingham. This role is suitable for a Senior Consultant with experience in quantum disputes or a Senior Quantity Surveyor working with a major UK contractor on sizable projects. The role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. It involves working on complex construction disputes that are currently being adjudicated, arbitrated, or litigated worldwide.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a Senior Associate Director in the Quantum division, you will collaborate with the Birmingham quantum team, including noted experts, to strategize litigation or arbitration approaches to help clients achieve desired legal outcomes.
You will support workload management, undertake senior quantum duties across arbitration, expert witness, and adjudication cases, and contribute to live project support related to contract administration or distressed projects.
Specific Quantum Associate Director Job Duties May Include:
* Analyzing construction accounts, costs, values, and payments to identify errors or opportunities.
* Performing technical analyses and preparing reports for arbitration and adjudication.
* Writing sections of quantum expert reports for review by quantum experts.
* Providing quantum-related advice to clients via reports and presentations.
Desired Skills and Experience
Candidates should have recent experience as a Quantum Consultant, Senior Consultant, or as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a reputable UK main contractor, with over 10 years in relevant roles. Experience in managing construction contract administration, claims, dispute resolution, and familiarity with contracts like NEC3 ECC & PSC is essential.
Additional requirements include experience with construction disputes, excellent communication skills, proficiency with relevant software tools, and leadership experience overseeing junior staff. Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences is crucial.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
* Master’s degree in construction law or related field is highly desirable.
* MRICS, MInstCES, or equivalent is preferred, or progress towards Chartership.
