Operations Director - Off Highway Platforms - Derby Area - Attractive - Permanent - Engineering An Operations Director is required to join a market leading Innovative Industrial an Off-Road Systems Company that is over 90 years old and is a leading UK supplier with significant growth expectations, so an exceptional time to join the organisation. The Operations Director will be Reporting to the Managing Director/Executive. The Operations Director will be responsible for the Engineering Operations of a small but growing company, manufacturing platforms for Industrial Systems and related off-road products for the rail and mining sector. The products and size of platforms range dependent on project and end client and are powered by Diesel, electric, battery or hybrid technologies. The Operations Director will work with the Managing Director/Executive to facilitate a growth plan that delivers a greater customer reach to meet increased turnover/profitability demands and expectations whilst nurturing a culture of continuous improvement across specific areas of the business. Operations Director - Essential Criteria Degree in a related subject (BEng, BSc) - Membership of a relevant certified body or possession of an appropriate Management Qualification is desirable. Able to demonstrate a strong commercial and operations management background. Proven record in a similar role within an industrial/manufacturing or engineering environment. Extensive experience defining and managing best practice financial and operational management. Experience of successful management budgets and projects. Ability to build strong relationships both internal and external. Experience of customer and stakeholder management. Demonstrate full understanding Health and Safety practices. Understand and be able to create Risk assessments and Method Statements. Operations Director - Key Responsibilities and Experience Required Liaise with the Managing Director/Executive to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals. Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of business to ensure smooth progress. Evaluate regularly the efficiency of business and operational procedures according to organisational objectives and apply improvements as required. Manage procurement processes and coordinate resources allocation appropriately Oversee customer support processes and organise them to enhance customer satisfaction Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote and improve profitability. Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation. Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors. Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analysing and interpreting data and metrics. Ensure that the company runs with legality and conformity to established systems. Hours and Holidays 37 hours/week Some Hybrid/WFH working and flexi hours available if needed Mon to Thurs Fri 25 days 8 statutory holidays Other and Benefits - After successful 3-month probationary period.
