Graduate Hotels is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join The Randolph Hotel and its brilliant team of hospitality enthusiasts! The landmark 151-bedroom Randolph Hotel in Oxford is part of the Graduate Hotels collection. THE ROLE The Maintenance Assistant is a key role within the Maintenance team as you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the hotel. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be hands-on making sure everything works as it should and fixing the things that don’t, always ensuring the hotel is maintained to a very high standard. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To rectify any maintenance issues within the hotel daily basis as agreed by the Maintenance Manager / Operations Manager. Ensuring the hotel is both safe and functional for our guests, by conducting regular checks. Diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment within the hotel. Ensure good relationships are built with internal and external customers. Supporting in the preventative maintenance and methodical testing of rooms and equipment, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating and electrical work. Conducting regular fire alarm tests. Carry out structured PPM (Pre-Preventative Maintenance) to a high standard of finish. To ensure that all equipment is operated in line with trained instructions. Respond to maintenance-related call-outs when required. To prioritise and complete all jobs according to departmental standards and within an appropriate timeframe and where this is not possible to ensure that guests and relevant managers are informed. To follow C.O.S.H.H regulations, in particular, the storage of hazardous substances. General maintenance tasks. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU Must have previous experience in a similar role, ideally from a hotel environment. A good knowledge of Health and Safety. Must have the ability to multi-task and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Good communication. Able to work various shift patterns - morning, afternoon/evening, and weekends. Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, Carpentry, or Plumbing qualifications would be advantageous. Current working knowledge of general maintenance and engineering work.
