Location: Cranfield, Bedfordshire We welcome applications for this exciting permanent academic post from passionate Avionic specialists to join our highly successful Centre for Aeronautics Aircraft Design Group to shape the future of our Centre’s research, design, and consultancy in avionic systems design and integration. About the Role You will develop and deliver high-quality postgraduate teaching in avionic systems design and integration and conduct world-leading research aligned with future aerospace industry needs. Our academics are supported to build research teams and secure funding. The role involves managing diverse responsibilities, including research, consultancy, project management, teaching, and supervising research students. About You We seek a qualified individual, ideally with aerospace or related industry experience, looking for greater autonomy in research. Experience in high-impact, cross-disciplinary, and industrially relevant research is beneficial. At the Senior Lecturer level, leadership in course management, business development, large funding bids, and collaborative research networks is expected. You will be educated to doctoral level in a relevant subject or have equivalent extensive industry experience. With a track record and solid experience of R&D related to Avionics design or systems together with evidence of collaborative working with other discipline specialists, you will also have the ability to develop business opportunities and attract income. With excellent communication and influencing skills, you ideally have postgraduate teaching experience and professional development courses. High computer literacy and programming expertise are preferred.
