Tezlom are recruiting a Substance Use Recovery Worker who can provide people with flexible packages of support and have experience working with substance abuse.
The service can provide a variety of supported living arrangements, including: individual homes, shared supported houses and extra care services within the community.
As a Substance Use Recovery Worker, some of the duties will include:
1. Developing domestic and life skills (house-keeping, shopping, cooking, cleaning, personal care, etc.);
2. Conduct assessments to evaluate the severity and nature of a client's substance misuse or addiction;
3. Delivering excellent drug and alcohol services to service users and their significant others, including family members, friends, and carers, to facilitate positive outcomes;
4. Offering practical guidance and strategies for relapse prevention and developing healthier coping mechanisms;
5. Managing a case load, coordinating, and delivering assessment and evidence-based interventions (brief and structured), recovery planning, and aftercare planning;
6. Monitoring and evaluating client progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed;
7. Managing their money, including paying bills;
8. Supporting to attend college, work placements, and other activities;
9. Accompaniment to appointments;
10. Socialising and meeting new people;
11. Help accessing other services;
12. Travel training;
13. Keeping safe and healthy;
14. Filling out forms; and much more.
However, it is important to remember that this is not a complete list and there will be people needing support who do not fit neatly into these groups.
As a Substance Use Recovery Worker, you will need to focus on getting to know people – how they want to be supported, what they want to achieve in life, and what is important to them – to offer support that is as individual as they are.
Apply today and we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss the role further.
