The primary role of the Project Manager within the Blackwell Earthmoving team is to lead one of the two section delivery teams in the safe, productive, and profitable construction of earthworks. As the day-to-day management face of Blackwell, you will maintain excellent relations with all stakeholders, including Eiffage Keir, HS2 Ltd, and members of the public when required. You will report directly to the Earthworks Operations Leader and generally to the Project Senior Leadership Team. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee the construction of works to ensure completion on time and within budget. Maintain excellent relations with all stakeholders. Enthuse and support team members to develop a strong working unit. Interact closely with Blackwell Central support, Commercial, and Health and Safety teams to ensure a coordinated approach across all sections of the contract. Build a strong relationship with the Client based on mutual trust and cooperation. Take ownership of the work under your control. Liaise with the Senior Leadership Team to keep them fully informed of progress and any emerging issues. Impact and Key Deliverables: Lead one of the Delivery Teams, ensuring the construction of works is completed on time and within budget. Ensure a coordinated approach across all sections of the contract and disciplines. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. Form and lead a strong working team. Take ownership of the work and ensure effective communication with the Senior Leadership Team. Knowledge, Skills, and Key Competencies Required: Essential: Experience in linear earthworks. In-depth knowledge of modern earthmoving methods, plant, outputs, and technologies. Knowledge of earthworks specifications and materials handling constraints. Proficient in producing resourced programmes and working budgets. Good commercial awareness. Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental law and best practices. Knowledge of employment law and the Working Rule Agreement T&Cs. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Problem-solving skills and a focus on finding cheaper, faster, and safer ways of doing things. Desirable: Ability to operate plant: Dumper, roller, and excavator. CPCS plant qualifications. SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training). First Aid and Mental Health First Aid certificates. CSCS Black Card. HSG 47 Cat & Genny trained with underground utility experience. Temporary works supervisor certification.
