Here at On Point Pubs Ltd, we pride ourselves on great customer service and great food. The aim of all staff is to ensure our guests love to eat and drink here by delivering great customer service with the aim of ensuring our guests recommend us to their friends and family. We are a local community pub with fresh food served 7 days a week alongside weekly entertainment. This position would suit somebody who works well under pressure and is used to a fast-paced environment.
As General Manager, you will be expected to ensure the smooth, safe operation of the business at all times, as well as leading, training, and developing the team to grow sales and profit.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead the team, including motivating and coaching the team to work to the highest standards at all times.
2. Deliver a strong talent and succession plan for the business. Identify development needs/opportunities.
3. Manage the day-to-day attendance and performance of the team in line with company policies and procedures including twice yearly appraisals.
4. Deal with any employee complaints and/or grievances promptly, in line with company guidelines.
5. Communicate effectively with the team through regular meetings & briefs. There are manager’s meetings held weekly and team meetings held at least monthly.
6. Ensure daily briefs and debriefs take place with clear targeting and performance reviews and processes in place for clear management handover (i.e. diary). Manage and maintain correct team levels - Identify recruitment needs and report these to the Area Manager, in line with the company recruitment process, ensuring that all paperwork (including legal working documentation) is certified, copied and retained in line with company guidelines.
7. Ensure opening and closing procedures are adhered to, in line with company policy, taking account of security and the safety of people and property.
8. Work in all areas of the business; ensure that best practice is maintained by the team and that any areas requiring improvement are identified.
9. Control all business administration procedures and ensure that the management team complies with company standards.
10. Manage all delivery processes, including checking in orders, storage, stock rotation, security, loss investigation, and team training.
11. Manage all stock processes, including timely orders and stock counts, line checks, wastage reports, loss investigation, and team training to ensure full availability of all drink, food, and consumables items.
12. Accountable for all cash management throughout the pub; conduct thorough investigations into any cash-loss issues and report to Area Manager.
13. Follow all safety & security procedures at all times.
14. Full awareness of and adherence to licensing, data protection, Health & Safety at Work, food safety, and COSHH legislation at all times.
15. Always adhere to all company policies and procedures and licensing laws. Carry out any duties as instructed by Area Manager.
Our Profits
1. Full responsibility for the business results including guest experience, sales, profit and loss, safety, productivity, engagement, and stock/consumables control. Review P&L monthly with the Area Manager, agreeing clear targets for improvements for any targets not achieved.
2. Maximize all sales opportunities in the business, including quality of food, drink, and service. Use all company point-of-sale as directed; understand all promotions and work with the team to maximize sales at every opportunity.
3. Display accurate rotas at least two weeks in advance for the team. Taking the necessary daily action to reduce/increase hours, in line with sales.

The candidate must hold a personal alcohol license.
Management experience of 3 years minimum.
The General Manager is expected to be present and visible in the business; therefore, a requirement to work late evenings, weekends, and public holidays is essential.
