The Role
- This role is working Sunday to Thursday, 9.30pm – 6am, 40 hours per week.
- The role will be working with our Nights Production Team, which has roughly 25 team members.
- The role is responsible for all of production on the night shift, ensuring the team works towards the production plan and that any issues are proactively identified, raised and corrected that may impact Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.
Your Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Safety
- To conduct risk assessments and support with raising near miss reports to help reduce accident levels.
- To promote 6S across the shift.
- To implement and work towards all Company Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements, including raising Hazard ID’s.
Quality
- To raise any quality issues and support the implementation of any improvements identified.
- To implement and work towards all regulatory and quality requirements set by the Company.
Delivery
- Support the team with working towards the production plan.
- Record metrics to support site KPIs and assist with the implementation of any improvements identified.
- To set up production equipment and ensure all materials needed are available, so products are built to the required standards.
Cost
- To create, manage, and work towards departmental budgets, identifying opportunities to be more efficient and reduce costs.
People
- To lead, motivate, communicate, and engage the team.
- Effectively manage any direct reports on topics such as performance, training, recruitment, formal meetings, and monthly 121s.
- To support Team Leaders with people management topics.
Your Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing at a supervisory level.
- Experience of leading group activities to drive improvement ideas.
- Experience with production costs including waste, downtime, scrap, and re-work.
- Commitment to work towards professional accreditation with an industry-related body.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques (BIT3) and recognized QC tools.
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, excellent communicator, a can-do attitude, and excellent IT skills.
Desirable
- Experience in assisting and developing (multi-skilled) people.
- Training in internal auditing.
