Rail – Lineside & Stations Civils Construction Manager

About The Role
We have an opening in our Rail division for a Civils Construction Manager to join our Rail team. As a Civils Construction Manager you will lead the site teams, working safely, efficiently and to a high standard on Rail Civil Engineering Projects. You will report to the Project Manager and be integral to preparing the program and ensuring the rollout of all works in line with milestone targets.
Key Accountabilities:
* Commitment and full awareness of the life-saving rules and Kelly Rail Values: Safety, Integrity, Delivery, Excellence, Customer and Teamwork.
* Timekeeping and management of staff to ensure works commence as per scheduled, and are delivered in line with program requirements.
* Ensure all site staff have appropriate personal protective equipment and are wearing it at all times when on duty.
* Coordination of the works in line with program and specifications.
* Engage in preparing the planning / Survey/ Civil Works/ and all Safety Aspects of the site operations.
* Managing and directing all site teams on a daily basis during delivery of works.
* Ensure that close calls are reported and captured in a timely manner.
* Ensure that all personnel under your control are fully briefed before work commences and have the relevant training & experience to carry out the tasks at hand.
* Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings and record attendance as required.
* Challenge unsafe behaviours.
* Deputise as required for other construction managers.
* High standard of workmanship.
* Clear concise daily reporting as directed by the Project Manager.
* Ensure daily site permits / records are in place and maintained.
* Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure all materials & plant as required are ordered and delivered / available as per the program requirements.
* Carry out site inspections on a periodic basis.
* Be proficient in understanding AFC drawing requirements and able to instruct the site teams accordingly.
* Ability to carry out setting out works on site.
* Ensure a good working relationship is upheld at all times with the clients' representatives.

Essential Skills
* Proficient use and knowledge of software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
* Recognised industry qualification and/or relevant experience.
* Demonstrable 3 years’ civils experience within the Rail Industry at Construction Manager Level.
* Ability to understand the change process within the project confines.
* Commercial awareness.
* Understanding and knowledge of relevant British Standards & Network Rail Standards in line with the project scope.
* PTS.
* Temporary Works Supervisor / Co-Ordinator.
* First Aid Certification.
* Experience working on rail civil engineering projects.
* Able to work nights, weekends, and days as the programme requires.
* Full Clean UK driving licence.
* Eligibility to work within the UK.
* Knowledge of health, safety, environmental & quality assurance, and regulations.
* Strong leadership skills.
* Prepared to travel.
