Based in Dyce, Aberdeen, our fabulous team are on the lookout for an experienced individual with a calm and understanding nature to join them as a Complex Needs Practitioner Level 2 on a full-time, permanent basis.
The Role
We have a fantastic new opportunity here at The Richmond Fellowship Scotland for a Support Practitioner to join our brand new service in Aberdeen.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a brand-new bespoke service supporting 8 individuals to live independently in their own tenancies.
Coming back to the local authority area, our new service, Stoneywood (Dyce), is a bespoke build where person-centred support will be given to individuals with complex needs in their own properties.
As a Complex Needs Practitioner you will assist with all aspects of daily living including meal preparation, medication, going to appointments and activities, managing personal finances, support with moving and handling and personal care. As well as helping the people we support in their own homes, you’ll also provide emotional support and assist them to maintain relationships with family and friends.
In our service we may use CALM which are physical intervention and escape techniques to ensure the safety of supported individuals, colleagues, and members of the public. Techniques include but are not limited to; posture and distance when supporting, understanding triggers and escalation signs along with guiding individuals away to deescalate situations.
To be an amazing Complex Needs Practitioner, we’ll need you to:
* Experience in a care setting
* Knowledge of care plans
* Have an empathetic and caring nature.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Confidence in using computers.
* Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own.
* Good organisational skills.
