SECTION ENGINEER
Location: Plymouth, Devon
Rate: £390 - £410 per day inside IR35 + £50 per shift (Lodge Contribution)
Duration: Long Term contract opportunity (12 Months +)
Start: January 2025 unless Security Clearance/Vetting is granted earlier.
I am currently recruiting for a Section Engineer to work on a major civil engineering project based in Devonport, Plymouth.
SECTION ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage the preparation of 'as-built drawings'.
2. Establish effective systems to record work completed, updating the Project Quality Plan accordingly.
3. Assist in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork, etc.
4. Provide engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.
5. Responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances.
6. Regularly check the setting out points and benchmarks and ensure that all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly.
7. Ensure workforce understands setting out information identified as suitable for the type of work being carried out.
8. Responsible for providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control to ensure accurate construction of the work.
9. Record instructions.
10. Maintain drawing register.
SECTION ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS
1. Previous experience working in the role or in a similar position.
2. Experience in piling, drainage, earthworks, RC, and heavy civil works is essential.
3. Relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent).
4. Holds relevant tickets/qualifications, i.e., CSCS, SMSTS.
5. Full right to work in the UK is a must.
