Falmouth Elementary School seeks a dynamic and innovative full-time 3-5 Special Education Composite Program Teacher with relevant experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction and support for students with a range of disabilities who require a structured and individualized learning environment. This position involves delivering specially designed instruction (SDI) in academic, functional, and behavioral skills while ensuring students have access to the general education curriculum to the maximum extent appropriate. The teacher will collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to create an inclusive and supportive learning experience tailored to each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Responsibilities:
* Provide direct, explicit instruction in academic, functional, and behavioral skills aligned with students' IEP goals.
* Implement evidence-based interventions and instructional strategies to support diverse learning needs.
* Develop and modify curriculum materials to meet students' unique learning profiles.
* Support students in accessing grade-level curriculum in small group, resource room, and/or general education settings.
* Utilize data-driven decision-making to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
* Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and individualized behavior support plans as needed.
* Foster the development of executive functioning, self-regulation, and social skills through direct instruction and embedded support.
* Collaborate with school counselors, social workers, and behavior specialists to address students' social-emotional and behavioral needs.
* Work closely with general education teachers to support inclusive practices and accommodations.
* Coordinate with related service providers (e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists, social workers) to integrate services into students’ daily routines.
* Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, IEP goals, and strategies for home-school collaboration.
* Serve as the case manager for assigned students, ensuring compliance with all special education laws and regulations.
* Develop and implement IEPs, including measurable goals, accommodations, and service delivery plans.
* Maintain accurate records, collect data, and complete progress reports in accordance with district and state guidelines.
Qualifications:
* Must hold (or be eligible to hold) the required certification 282 Teacher of Students with Disabilities Grades K-8.
* Additional certification in reading programs is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in using technology and adaptive tools to support student learning.
* Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
