General Practice Health Care Assistant
Opportunity available for a Healthcare Assistant to work within a GP Practice Setting, based in Leicester. The team sits within a GP Practice setting with the role predominantly assisting medical personnel in the care of patients, including treatment, preventative care, screening, and patient education. As part of this role, you will be a focal point of communication between patients, doctors, nurses, and other members of the primary health care team and will also be involved with administrative duties.
Some of the duties you will assist with are the following:
1. BP monitoring
2. Urinalysis
3. Phlebotomy
4. ECG's
5. Chronic disease reviews (physical health check)
6. NHS Health checks
7. Provide lifestyle advice to patients, making any necessary referrals within the organization
8. Basic wound management (dressings, suture removals)
9. Injections (B12, influenza)
10. Assist the GPs in Minor Surgery clinics if required
11. Weight monitoring
12. Ensure specimens are labelled and bagged ready for collection with the necessary paperwork completed
13. Ensure clinical waste collection runs smoothly, reporting any problems to the nurse manager
14. Ensure sharps bins are ready for collection
15. Restocking/maintenance of equipment
16. Restocking of clinical areas and consulting rooms
17. Health checker screening and signposting responsibilities on patient arrival
Essential: GP Practice Experience
This role is to commence as soon as possible with shifts being full-time.
The hourly rate for this role is: £12.00 Per Hour (PAYE)
