Fawkes & Reece South are working with a regional contractor that works in collaboration with local authorities, main contractors and private clients. As a principal contractor that self-deliver on projects that are worth between £4m and £10 million but also deliver one-off schemes between £15m and £20 million. They are seeking a Senior Estimator to tender for projects that have a scope of works that includes port expansions, construction of sea defence structures, urban regenerations, flood alleviation schemes, wastewater treatment works, roads and infrastructure. As a Senior Estimator you'll be reporting directing to the Head of Estimating and senior management. Your duties will include (but not limited to): Preparing tenders with assistance from other members of the pre-construction team Managing the production of the tender costs in consultation with the project planner, design manager and bid manager allocated to the project Obtaining suitable market quotations to substantiate the prime cost utilising the company Supply Chain Delivering accurate prime cost submissions at the adjudication meeting in a professional and logical manner Advising line manager of improvements/innovation within the company or externally that you become aware of Handover of successful tender information such that the site teams are suitably briefedRequirements including certificates and qualifications: Experience using Causeway or any other estimating packages would be advantageous Good understanding of first principles Experience tendering on civil engineering or infrastructure projects Previous experience having worked as an Estimator or Site Agent Candidates must be able to prove their eligibility to work in the UK The successful candidate will be rewarded with an outstanding working environment, opportunities to progress whatever stage of your career as well as a package that gives you security and recognises your contribution to the business.
