In this role, you will work with adults with severe learning disabilities, autism, and other complex needs delivering sessions that build skills and support emotional and physical wellbeing. Our sessions take place in one of our Hubs and the local community.
Our ethos is to support people to be as independent as they can be in all areas of their life, to be actively involved and included in their local communities, and to reduce or avoid people becoming dependent. Learning opportunities range from Pathways to Employment to supporting people using a small/next steps approach to develop life skills and communicate their wants and needs so that they can make choices about their lives.
The successful candidate will have high professional standards and be a good team player. They will have knowledge and experience of Positive Behaviour Support and skills that support people to develop their communication and choice-making skills. They will also need to be able to think creatively to design and deliver sessions that meet individual person-centred outcomes.
Initially, this role will be based at New Addington Hub and The Cherry Hub; however, like all roles in Active Lives, the location and team may change according to service demand and evolution.
