Seeking a specialist electrophysiology cardiologist consultant for a fixed term 12 months full time contract with a tertiary hospital in New Zealand's North Island. Position highlights a tertiary referral and teaching cardiac centre providing a wide range of adult cardiac services including cardiac surgery, structural heart disease and complex coronary intervention for the Midland Region (860,000 people) Cardiology department supports 5 regional secondary care hospitals. well-established and dynamic team of 17 Cardiologists and 5 cardiac surgeons 4 cardiac catheterisation labs including a dedicated EP lab and another custom built hybrid lab with capability of fusion imaging. this post offers a unique opportunity to work in all aspects of cardiac electrophysiology, including EP studies, ablation (RF, PFA and Cryo), 3D mapping (CARTO), the full range of device implants, outpatient clinics and ward management. work with a highly experienced EP team in one of the leading centres in NZ. hospital performs over 300 EP studies and 600 device implants each year. dedicated EP lab and 3 other pacing-capable labs (shared with PCI) opportunities to contribute to ongoing research programmes in the department. 40 hour working week plus on call duties Waikato region offers wonderful opportunities for a family and outdoor enthusiasts.
