Our team in Daresbury currently has an opening for a Senior Materials Planner.
YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibility for operational performance of the Materials Planning team, in consideration of the company objectives. This includes ownership of both individual and team results for:
1. Inventory Control and material replenishment
2. Planning and Purchase Order processing for key customer accounts
3. Monitoring key customer trends against forecasts and making recommendations based upon findings.
4. 3rd Party Service Provider Management: Coordinate, verify and reconcile the physical and book to book count of all stock in 3rd party facilities.
5. Maintain the company’s Toll Processing contract.
6. Lead, mentor and develop the Planning Team, supporting balanced workloads and providing sickness and holiday cover.
7. Monitor and ensure adherence to processes within the Materials Planning Team, proposing and developing enhancements and improvements to existing processes.
8. Represent the Materials Planning Team in internal/external meetings and be actively involved in project management as required by the Supply Chain Manager.
YOUR PROFILE
A level in Mathematics or Science subject.
Key understanding of inventory control and planning principles.
Team leader or supervisory experience in a busy supply chain environment responsible for developing and training a small team.
Experience working with customers, suppliers and third party agents.
Experience in record and data control using manual and computer systems.
NVQ or equivalent in a business and/or supply chain related subject.
Experience of reporting team KPI performance and providing summary analysis and actions; stewarding effectiveness of prior actions, and developing new metrics and analysis.
Awareness of the key business metrics for stewarding inventory control, asset utilisation, and transport efficiency.
