Finance Controller
Location – Manchester, UK
Hybrid working 2 days in the office, 3 days WFH

Role Purpose:
Financial support & Process management for SAR related functions.
Key Accountabilities:
* Be the Finance Business Partner and provide financial advice to Department Lead.
* Understand the cost drivers of Cost Centers / Department and provide insight to the non-finance members.
* Be responsible for financial advice and support to decision making: advise on costs, consulting spending, FTEs, planning and reporting.
* Understand financial opportunities and risks.
* Participate in review during Outlook and Target planning cycles.
* Propose improvements in execution and lead initiatives for operational improvements.
Process Management:
* Ensure timeliness and correctness of month-end close activities for the Functions (accruals, reclassifications, allocation, FTE assignments).
* Review and comment on deltas and overall results to finance and non-finance members.
* Plan costs and FTEs at cost center level during Outlook and Budget cycles.
* Responsible for coordinating Capex control activities (based on role needs) and serving as the main point of contact for senior management to establish new strategies.
* Analyze financial information for errors and trends.
* Assist with year-end and internal audits.
* Support M&A and divestment projects as needed.
* Support projects by setting and controlling budgets, tracking spend, capitalisation initiation and ensuring compliance.
Key Requirements:
* Analytical skills.
* Interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively in order to explain financial concepts to non-finance people.
* Attention to detail, organizational, planning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, and general computer skills particularly with accounting systems (SAP preferred) and reporting (BW).
* Experience with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI preferred).
* Good understanding of project management.
