Vacancy – Procurement Manager
ESS Employment Ltd are looking to employ a versatile individual skilled in Supply Chain, Procurement, Purchasing, Product Management, and ERP supply optimisation. The ideal candidate should excel in both team settings and working independently, meeting strict deadlines under pressure. Key skills include Problem Solving, Supply Chain Negotiation, Communication, and Relationship Building.
Duties for the role:
• Oversee the day-to-day procurement activities of a fast-paced production site, managing the whole procurement process of bespoke made-to-measure office chairs & components.
• Identify opportunities for supply chain improvement and make recommendations, adopting a continuous improvement approach to optimise margin, component quality, and reduce supply chain volatility.
• Monitor quality, safety, and overall standards of the procurement department and its supply partners, from raw material to end product.
• Generate procurement reports, analyse KPIs, and present findings to senior management at regular intervals.
• Collaborate with the accounts team and senior leadership to plan and execute payment scheduling, invoice and purchase order fulfilment, and future forecasting based on market conditions and business performance.
• Drive innovation, positive change, and manufacturing excellence.
• Solve problems dynamically, with opportunities for self-growth and potential development into a director-level position in the near future.
The successful candidate:
• Qualification in procurement management, operations management, or related discipline is a plus but not essential. Aptitude and ambition valued above all else.
• Proven experience in a management role within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong knowledge of international import/customs/freight regulations and quality control standards applied to product production.
• Experience working alongside creative and technical teams to design and launch new products (a benefit but not essential).
• Understanding of MRP and ERP software solutions and their use within live manufacturing environments.
