PASTORAL MANAGER VACANCY
St John’s Catholic Comprehensive School is seeking to recruit an experienced, hardworking, and proactive practitioner for the role of Pastoral Manager, who will be assigned to an individual Year Group (Year 10). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing student welfare and behaviour, whilst promoting a sense of personal excellence in our students. Please Note: The individual Year Group may change at the end of any given academic year.
Our new Pastoral Manager will need to be a confident, professional and approachable communicator, as he/she will be liaising with external and internal stakeholders; including staff, students, parents/carers and the wider community. The successful applicant should have good time management skills, be able to meet deadlines, be empathetic, as well as having a flexible approach to work as priorities could change at short notice.
St John’s is a successful co-ed Catholic comprehensive school with over 1300 pupils, including over 300 students in our Sixth Form and c.200 students in each Year Group from Years 7-11. We have a very strong Catholic ethos and pride ourselves in being a warm and welcoming community, something that was externally recognised in our recent Section 48 Inspection of January 2020, where we achieved ‘Outstanding Catholic School’ status.

We are also projected to receive a positive Progress 8 score for 2024 (Progress 8 outcomes will be released by the government shortly).
