Locum Community Speech and Language Therapist
Eden Brown Synergy are currently recruiting a Locum Community Speech and Language Therapist on behalf of Shropshire Community NHS.
This is a full-time, locum role to start as soon as possible where you will be working with people with an acquired or progressive neurological condition, in community-based settings and in their homes.
The base is Shropshire Rehab Centre in Shrewsbury with face-to-face visits across Shropshire, Telford, and Wrekin.
This is a Band 6 position where you will be required to work 37.5 hrs per week Monday - Friday.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To plan, organise and prioritise own client case load, developing individual Speech and Language Therapy intervention plans for a range of neurological conditions, including complex cases.
2. To work as a member of the multidisciplinary CNRT alongside Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Assistant Practitioners, including attendance at weekly multidisciplinary team meetings.
3. To undertake all aspects of the Speech and Language Therapy process.
4. To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of speech and language therapy treatment and care, enabling clients to maximise their potential for independence.
5. To develop and maintain skills required to practice Speech and Language Therapy within an adult neurology setting.
6. To attend relevant goal planning/review meetings with clients and other staff.
7. To undertake Speech and Language Therapy assessment and treatment as an autonomous practitioner.
8. To assess and develop individual care/treatment plans for clients with physical, cognitive, social, and psychological needs, delivered via 1:1 sessions or group treatment sessions.
9. To be responsible for reassessing client care as treatment progresses and modifying treatment programmes as appropriate.
10. To analyse clinical and social information from various sources and integrate it into Speech and Language Therapy assessment and treatment plans.
Minimum Requirements:
1. A degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
2. HCPC registration and RCSLT membership.
3. Experience of carrying out specialist assessment and intervention within acquired neurological communication and swallowing disorders.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
