We are currently working with a well-established tiling contractor based in Essex. As a rapidly expanding business with over 200 employees, our client works with some top Tier 1 contractors on complex and innovative projects with demanding timelines and intricate specifications.
They complete infrastructure projects within the rail and aviation industries and design and install specialist tiling across a wide range of sectors, including large and high-profile commercial, residential, health, and education projects.
The Role
Our client is currently looking for a Managing Director to join their team in Essex.
As the Managing Director, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the overall operations and strategic direction of the company.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Strategic leadership
Sets the company's vision, mission, and long-term goals, ensuring they align with industry trends and client needs.
Works closely with the senior leadership to develop and implement growth strategies, including market expansion.
2. Project oversight and delivery
Ensures that all projects meet client specifications, deadlines, and budget constraints.
Manages risk assessments for projects, addressing issues like safety, environmental compliance, and financial risks.
Balances resources across multiple projects, ensuring the company can meet demands without overextending itself.
3. Financial Management
Responsible for the financial health of the company, including profitability, cash flow, and capital investment decisions.
Oversees budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control to maximize project efficiency and company profitability.
Evaluates large financial decisions and approves high-value contracts.
4. Team Leadership and Development
Provides leadership to senior management teams, including Project Managers, engineers, and operational staff.
Focuses on hiring, developing, and retaining top talent, ensuring that the company has skilled teams to execute projects effectively.
Establishes a positive company culture with a focus on performance, safety, and continuous improvement.
5. Client and Stakeholder Relationships
Serves as the primary point of contact for high-profile clients, stakeholders, and partners.
Negotiates large contracts and maintains strong relationships to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.
Builds partnerships with suppliers, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies to support project execution.
