Research and Innovation is seeking an enthusiastic individual to provide a proactive and comprehensive service to help the Grants Academy support the ambitious growth of the University of Aberdeen’s externally funded research portfolio. Essential parts of the role include identifying and promoting external research funding opportunities, managing the University’s valuable internal pump prime funds and providing key administrative support for the University’s Grants Academy – our flagship resource dedicated to providing support at all stages of the research cycle, helping researchers to develop competitive grant applications that will deliver high quality, impactful research.
Well organised, astute and highly motivated, we are looking for a dynamic individual to work alongside the Research Development team in Research and Innovation. As the Grants Academy Funding Officer and Administrator you will need to be able to work both independently on your own initiative, and also effectively as part of the Research Development Team. You will make an important and valued contribution to the University’s world-class research portfolio helping to seed future grant successes by managing the University’s internal ‘pump prime’ funds and by supporting colleagues to identify and win appropriate funding for their world-class ideas.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 5, £32,296 - £35,880 per annum, and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience. This role is available on a part-time (0.8 FTE) basis.
