On behalf of our client, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hydraulic Engineer with a focus on forklift mechanics and hydraulic hose systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, flexibility, and the drive to succeed across all areas of our company. For those who are fully competent, we offer a full senior wage. For candidates who do not yet meet these standards, training and development will be implemented before the full wage can be offered.
Key Responsibilities:
Mobile Service:
1. Operate the mobile hose repair and hydraulic diagnostic van to provide on-site services.
2. Diagnose and repair hydraulic hose systems at client locations.
Workshop Duties:
1. Safely work on hydraulic equipment.
2. Strip and build hydraulic cylinders, motors, pump assemblies, and valves.
3. Build and strip hydraulic components within the workshop.
4. Perform detailed inspections and quality checks on hydraulic components.
5. Maintain the hydraulic mechanic workshop and mobile van.
6. Manage workshop & mobile van fittings, oils, and consumables.
7. Follow the hydraulic shop's open and shut down procedures.
Technical Support:
1. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients.
2. Conduct diagnostic assessments to identify issues with hydraulic systems.
3. Understand engineering principles and hydraulic faults to perform repairs accordingly.
Maintenance and Installation:
1. Oversee the installation and maintenance of hydraulic hose systems.
2. Develop and follow maintenance schedules and procedures.
3. Plan work methods, prioritizing safety, job completion times, and quality products.
4. Manage own workload in conjunction with the machine shop.
5. Complete accurate timesheets.
Training and Development:
1. Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
2. Stay updated on the latest advancements in hydraulic technology.
Safety and Compliance:
1. Ensure all work adheres to industry standards and safety regulations.
2. Implement safety protocols and guidelines for handling and installing hydraulic hoses.
3. Adhere to all company rules, procedures, and policies.
Ability and Knowledge:
1. Operate hydraulic test beds, hose swagers, and general workshop equipment.
2. Effectively operate forklifts and heavy-handling equipment.
3. Work offsite using minimal equipment, utilizing innovation in hydraulic van operations.
Preferred Skills:
1. Ability to weld hydraulic cylinder parts.
2. Transferable skills across our engineering departments.
What We Offer:
1. Pay: £31,200.00 - £50,375.00 per year, with potential for overtime.
2. £15.50 P/H - £17.50 P/H with 40-hour work weeks plus overtime.
3. Flexible schedule, including 8-hour shifts, day shifts, and weekend availability.
